Sir.-Following on from a great VE Day and VJ Day event in the War Memorial Park, Basingstoke Silver Band also played in Eastrop Park on Sunday.
There were so many people there enjoying themselves.
There were youngsters using their energy to row around the boating lake, children in the pool splashing one another in the bright sunshine, and adults sitting with others listening to the music being played by the band.
Thank you, Basingstoke, for your spirit of peace.
