BRAMLEY summer fete: This wonderful event was organised by Bramley School Association with Bramley Church and Little Apples.

Tadley Brass Band was there all afternoon, playing a selection of music from the shows.

The country dancing, karate and judo teams gave demonstrations.

Bramley School Choir performed and there were lots and lots of competitions.

Arm wrestling with Anne was a chance to try your strength against the headteacher.

Balloons were sent off into the blue and there was a draw for Sherdon Pot of Gold, which went to the lucky Wallace family.

Home-made cakes from the church stall, raffle tickets, books and Terry's plants were all in demand.

There were much-needed refreshments on the tea stall and bar and the strawberries and cream soon sold out.

The reptiles were another attraction and there was a chance to have a go on the potter's wheel.

It was a full and happy afternoon. Thanks to all who made it a success.

MOBILE library service: The next visit by the mobile library will be on Friday, July 29, when it will be at the Clift Meadow car park from 10am to 1pm.

LUNCH Club: The Wednesday Lunch Club met on July 6, in the village hall.

Tea and coffee were first on the agenda, followed by a chat to catch up on news.

Lunch consisted of Judy's chicken casserole with Pat's special vegetables and the dessert was Celia's garden gooseberries in a super crumble with ice-cream.

The afternoon soon passed with Lindy organising a card game of "Stop the Bus" and finished with the raffle and prizes for all.
