THE unlikely pop star Will Young returns with a fresh sound and is coming to Beaulieu tomorrow.

After one of the biggest albums of last year and countless awards under his belt, he is sure to treat the treat the fans to all their favourites as well as the number one hits, which sealed his extraordinary success after being crowned first Pop Idol winner in 2002.

With his charming manner, immense vocal talent and enviable good looks, Will broke records with the release of his first number one single Evergreen, which went on to become the biggest selling first day debut single ever.

Proving he was not just a one hit wonder his debut album, From Now On, shifted 850,000 copies.

Will went on to establish himself as one of Britain's hottest male talents, securing a whole host of awards including a Brit award for best song with Your Game in February, and 'Best Newcomer' and 'Best UK Male' at the National Music Awards in 2002.

More recently, the 26-year-old's achievements include an Ivor Novello award for 'Leave Right now', singing for the Queen, and closing the Live 8 Edinburgh show duetting with funk legend James Brown.

The Berkshire-born star boasts a politics degree from Exeter University and is a far cry from your typical, pop idol type.

Eloquent, with a middle-class accent and slightly eccentric personality he bucks the trend for your average pop heart-throb.

But it has done wonders for his popularity and won over the hearts of the British public.

Will's unique voice will serenade the crowd at Beaulieu while the rocking Status Quo launch the three-day Summer Pops 2005 festival tonight.

Meanwhile, the Australian Pink Floyd are revved up and ready to go on the closing day of the gig.
