GREEN minded householders have helped Wiltshire clock up its highest ever recycling figures.
Latest figures show the county is now recycling 31.3 per cent of its rubbish - this time last year the county clocked up 26.2 per cent. Rates at the county's ten recycling centres are higher than ever too.
Wiltshire County Council waste boss Andy Conn puts the latest figures down to increased awareness, improvement in recycling services and the goodwill of the public. "It's great news. I think everyone is becoming more aware about the importance of recycling," he said.
And regulars at the county council's household recycling centre at Everleigh, just outside Tidworth, will notice a new service when they visit.
