A CAKE fit for a king was feasted upon at Kimpton CE Primary School in celebration of a new play trail and some polished grey matter.
The 80-egg cake was baked by Kimpton mum and PTA member Karen Sturges and commemorated the school's new timber play trail.
The £7,000 array of logs and obstacles was just the job for the children to burn off the calories from their tasty portion of cake.
While the science of cake-making was prevalent among parents, the pupils have been demonstrating their scientific prowess.
Test Valley Mayor Peter Boulton visited the village school to present pupils Jessica Thompson and James Harvey with British Assessment Advancement of Science certificates.
Jessica's science project on tie-dying won her the plaudit, while James' owl project was also recognised.
The Kimpton pupils are clearly following in the footsteps of their teachers, with some of the staff also winning a Rolls Royce science award.
