WATERSIDE pensioners shared their memories of the Second World War with a group of schoolchildren.
Pupils at Wildground Junior School, Dibden Purlieu, went to nearby Muir House for a tea party celebrating the 60th anniversary of VE and VJ Days.
The children were shown a large collection of wartime memorabilia, including boots, helmets, medals and identity cards.
As reported in the Daily Echo, the pupils have made a huge wall hanging that commemorates the end of the war and has been created to look like a 1940s-style patchwork quilt.
The hanging will be on display at Muir School until the start of next term, when it will be returned to the school.
