Solent Stars have decided to run a second women's team in the national league next season.
After completing successful summer trials, they are to enter Division 2 South.
Coach Michael Ball said Stars will use it as an opportunity to groom their under-18s by mixing them with some seniors.
"We are always looking at the best way of developing our players and it will mean a better level of competition for our juniors than the under-18 league," he said.
