The Hampshire Rose Bowl is set to become familiar territory for Bournemouth in the next five days.

They play the Hampshire Academy on the Nursery Ground tomorrow and on Wednesday face BAT Sports in the Southern Electric Cup final on the main Bowl arena.

Crucial league points will be at stake tomorrow as Bournemouth look to make further inroads into BAT's slimmed 11-point lead at the top of the Southern Electric Premier League.

"Three weeks ago, they were out of sight, some 47 points clear, but they've lost three on the trot and now it's down to 11," Bournemouth skipper Richard Scott pointed out.

Bournemouth will need to be on their guard tomorrow as the Academy youngsters thrashed BAT last weekend.

But Scott is backing Matt Metcalf - a past Academy player - to do his stuff tomorrow.

Kevin Latouf, who hit 25 on his Hampshire 1st XI debut in last week's amazing C & G Trophy quarter-final win at The Brit Oval, returns for the Young Hawks.

Bournemouth are currently topping the Time Pennant table by two points from BAT Sports.

Hampshire Academy: Latouf, Dawson, Adams, Howell, Qureshi, Wood, Watkins, Cockram, Morris, Morgan, Regan

Bournemouth: Scott, Swarbrick, Mclean, Cowley, Parke, Kidner, Metcalf, AliMohammed,

Wainwright, Warren, Wilson.

Leaders BAT Sports are bolstered by the return of leading wicket-taker Dan Goldstraw as they bid to halt a run of three successive defeats against lowly Andover at London Road.

Goldstraw, so crucial to BAT's success, has missed the last two games which the leaders have lost to Portsmouth and the Hampshire Academy.

But skipper David Banks will be looking for an all-round improvement after some lean batting displays.

"The guys at the top of the order, myself included, have got to start making some scores and that means application and concentration - two things we're badly lacking," Banks said.

Besides the returning Goldstraw, BAT could have university batsman Chris Edwards in the side, while Jez Ord could get a recall after his match-winning cup exploits in midweek.

A fractured thumb has sidelined Andover's Cille van der Merwe, while his deputy Ali Hooper is also suffering from a finger injury.

Ironically, Nigel Bungay (back injury) is also doubtful behind the stumps.

BAT Sports: Banks, Shirazi, Norris, Hibberd, R Rawlins, Kenway, Edwards, Turk, Franklin, Ord, Goldstraw, Linge, T Rawlins.

Fifth-placed Bashley (Rydal) are 27 points behind BAT Sports but, with the top four to play in the next few weeks, are certain to have a major say in who wins the league.

"We're not out of it by a long way, though we've got to win our two remaining 'time' games and clock up as many points as we can," skipper Matt King emphasised.

Neil Sexton continues to stand in for the injured Neil Taylor, while Shaun Lilley is included to strengthen the batting.

Dorset's Richard Pineo is an absentee for Havant, who include three spinners in their bowling armoury.
