PHEW! What a scorcher.
Calshot Beach, pictured above, will be a popular place to head for today as temperatures are set to rise to 28C (82F) making it one of the hottest days of the month.
A Met Office forecaster said the warm weather would peak today but warned of thunderstorms across the region tonight.
"It will be hot because of the high pressure covering most of the UK coupled with the south-easterly winds which are blowing warm air from the continent.
"There will be a risk of some showers in the evening and overnight there could be thunderstorms which should clear by tomorrow morning."
Today's forecast comes after a glorious bank holiday weekend and temperatures topping 26C (79F) yesterday.
The sunshine is set to last until the weekend with temperatures predicted to hit 25C to 27C (75F to 80F) over the next few days.
The Met Office forecaster added: "It will be a little bit cloudy tomorrow but that will clear by the afternoon. The weekend will be fine."
