AN ANTI-BULLYING DVD presentation has won youngsters at Cranbourne Business and Enterprise College special awards and much respect from younger pupils at the college.
Twelve pupils from Years 10 and 11 devised and presented a very powerful drama production which has been shown to more than 700 students at the Basingstoke college.
Their hard work was rewarded with a presentation ceremony last Friday, where they were given certificates and awards by the president and members of the Basingstoke rotary club.
The national anti-bullying initiative was supported by Rotary International.
The Anti-Bullying Crew (ABC) works to stamp out bullying at the college and provides mentoring and peer counselling services to all pupils.
The older pupils go into each tutor group in years 7 and 8 at breaktimes each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and offer the younger pupils help and advice if they are being bullied.
Lisa Stokes, welfare officer and counsellor, said: "The kids have been great. They have done such a lot to help the younger pupils."
Mrs Stokes started the programme after seeing an advert in the Daily Mail about free computer software that was available to schools and colleges.
The software contains information about a range of subjects - including bullying.
