Four local petanque players helped steer England to victory in the Home Nations Triples Championships at Luton.
Graham Galton and Robert Padwick, both of Southampton City Petanque Club, played with Hannah Barnes and Heather Stockbridge from the Isle of Wight as England II, scoring eight wins from 12.
Overall England amassed 44 wins, Wales 28 and Scotland 24 and England also won the junior title.
Peter Galton, who accompanied son Graham to the championships, said: "I was pleased with how Graham and Robert played.
"This was the first time they had competed at this level and they had to play a lot of games over the weekend.
"The lads are now looking forward to the Inter-Regional Championships at Brean Sands in September."
Both Galton junior and Padwick are former pupils of Millbrook School in Southampton.
