CHANGE again: Yes, we are going to have another policeman.

Pc Jon Peace is to take over the job of policing the village. Apparently he took over last week but, at this stage, no one is aware of this.

Why are we changing again? In all honesty we don't see patrolling policemen in the village any more.

Apparently, they have two community police officers at Chineham plus the Pc that covers our village and the Chineham area.

It would seem that we don't get the coverage that Chineham gets because we are a low crime area.

PLAYING away: They say that this is a disadvantage.

Not so for our renowned Basing Singers.

They played away on November 5, at St Paul's Church in Chichester, where they sang with the Chantry Choir. Their rendition of the Mass for Peace and Requiem brought the house down.

The choir meets for a practice each Wednesday, at 7.45pm, in the parish rooms of St Mary's Church.
