ICED-OVER windscreens, freezing conditions, icy roads and air so cold you can see your breath right in front of you.
That's what's predicted as Hampshire braces itself for one of the coldest winters in recent years.
Meteorologists at the Met Office have warned this winter is likely to be far colder than the average temperature of 4.5C.
This will leave thousands of older people across the county shivering in homes without central heating, as revealed in the Daily Echo.
The cold, which over the weekend plummeted to minus five at night, is more dangerous than people realise and is far more likely to lead to heart attacks, strokes or chest infections.
Get tonight's Daily Echo for advise on how to beat the freeze.
