Eastleigh manager Paul Doswell aims to put out the strongest side he can muster in the Hampshire Senior Cup at Fareham Town tonight.

But with fresh injury worries to contend with, he admitted: "It'll be a case of putting out whoever's standing."

Striker Andy Forbes is feared to be out for two or three weeks after limping out of Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Cambridge City with calf trouble and, to add to their frontline woes, young Barry Mason damaged an ankle playing for the reserves.

Full-back Ian Oliver is still recovering from a badly gashed ankle but should hopefully be fit for Saturday's FA Trophy trip to Leighton Town.

Eastleigh fielded a side of mainly young fringe and reserve players in the Russell Cotes Cup at Hamble ASSC last week, but Doswell said: "We're taking the Hampshire Senior Cup a lot more seriously and will be trying to win the game with the best side we have available.

"There will be no excuses if we lose."

Bradley Thomas will line up in central defence after serving a one-match suspension, while Mark Peters is expected to partner Neville Roach up front. Assistant manager/midfielder David Hughes should also be fit to play.

Midfielder Anton Robinson's stay at Eastleigh looks likely to be a short one. After two starts for the Spitfires, the former Millwall man, above, was dropped to the bench on Saturday, while young Jack Smith was handed his first Conference South start.

Doswell said: "Anton's a decent player, but he's no better than we've already got. I'm probably going to let him go."

Wessex outfit Fareham caused an upset against Eastleigh two seasons ago when they dumped them out in the semi-final before losing to Farnborough Town at St Mary's.
