TRADING standards bosses on the Isle of Wight are warning residents about a lottery scam.
E-mails are being sent to people telling them they have won a jackpot prize in a fake lottery.
Residents are then told to stump up as much as £7,000 as a 'service fee' so they can claim their prize.
Trading standards officers are warning people not to reply to the e-mail on the Internet as they will be giving away information to the fraudsters. Anyone wanting further information should call the Island's trading standards department on 01983 821000.
