ISLE of Wight double Olympic gold medallist Shirley Robertson OBE, pictured below, has become an official ambassador for the Cowes-based United Kingdom Sailing Academy.
Her new role will focus on the charitable work of the organisation, which helps disadvantaged children learn how to sail.
David Green, chief executive of the UKSA, said: "We are enormously excited about the confirmation of Shirley Robertson as our ambassador.
"Having worked with Shirley over a number of years, we are well aware of her personal dedication and commitment to the sport."
