THEY are proving that true love never dies.
Ronald Mortimore and Anne Prendergast were today due to marry for a second time - 58 years after their first wedding and more than a quarter of a century after they were divorced.
The couple, of Beaumond Green, Winchester, never lost touch despite both remarrying, and were due to put the new seal on their romance in a small ceremony at the city's Hotel du Vin.
Among the guests will be the couple's two grown-up children.
Retired chartered surveyor Mr Mortimore, 87, said: "The divorce should never have happened.
"It's great to be back together - I was in love with her all the time."
Former saleswoman Mrs Prendergast, 81, added: "I was delighted, but it was quite a shock. I don't think either of us thought about it."
