ROMSEY MP Sandra Gidley is supporting an RSPCA campaign to improve food-labelling standards.
The RSPCA's food labelling scheme, Free-dom Food, has launched its first Farm Animal Week, after new research revealed that three out of four shoppers said they would take more notice of what they were buying if they knew more about where their food came from.
Backing the scheme, the MP said: "Almost one billion farm animals are reared in the UK each year for food and we can all do something to help improve their lives."
The campaign aims to better educate people about food production and the importance of good farm animal welfare.
