TODBOR Manor owner John Candy is investing more than £150,000 into a fabulous eight-acre carp venue at the popular day-ticket Dorset still water.

The purpose-built carp fishery, due to open in the spring of 2007, will have a road right around the venue so anglers can park behind their swims, which will be purpose built.

The project represents a huge investment by Candy but he has had plenty of experience in developing Todbor as a top-class match and pleasure fishery over the years.

Candy has already taken delivery of several hundred three summer scaly carp from Andy Parker which should be doubles by the time the fishery opens.

The country's leading suppliers of carp, New Forest specialists Heather Fisheries, have stocked 75 cracking four summer double figure fish from John Paton's famous Fishers Pond strain which should all be upper doubles by the time the fishery opens. Thirty five-summer fish between 16lb and 20lb from the same source have also been stocked.

l Cormorants Team Sillybaits Steve Rochester won the Cormorants' club match at Witherington Farm with a massive 144lb of carp to 15lb from peg nine on Cottage on the waggler and corn.
