FORMER Formula One Grand Prix champion Jody Scheckter visited a Hampshire school to collect a charity cheque for more than £800 from pupils.
Jody Scheckter stopped by at Kings School in Winchester to collect a cheque destined for the charity FARM-Africa, after the Year 7 youngsters took part in a fundraising maths quiz.
The quiz, arranged by Alexis Craig from the school's maths department, was aimed at showing the youngsters how important maths is in the real world, and how it can also be a source of fun.
The charity has a personal interest for South Africa-born Jody, who now runs an organic farm near Winchester, because FARM-Africa helps smallholder farmers in eastern and southern Africa to make their businesses profitable and sustainable.
