AFC Totton will play Andover in the final Sydenhams Wessex League Cup on Monday, May 1.

The north Hampshire side proved too strong for Poole Town over the two-legged semi-final, winning 3-2 at the Tatnum Ground to go through 5-3 on aggregate last night.

Poole were good value for a 1-0 interval lead courtesy of Gary Funnell, but goal machine Justin Bennett levelled early in the second half and Mark Keogh quickly added another.

That left the Dolphins with no option but to bomb forward and they were caught again by Phil Andrews, who had already hit the bar, before Leigh Phillips pulled it back to 3-2.

Poole boss Tom Killick reflected: "We did well in the first half, but then conceded two poor goals which meant we'd have needed to score three to win it.

"If you take away that bit of sloppiness, we actually played quite well, but Andover have the sort of forwards who can get a goal out of nothing.

"You think you've got things under control, but any slight lapse and the ball's in the back of the net. They leave you no margin for error."

Andover last won the SWL Cup in their double-winning season of 2001/2.
