SAINTS boss George Burley is sweating over the fitness of goalkeeper Paul Smith.
The keeper gave Saints a scare yesterday when he called in with a virus that forced him out of training.
And Burley must now wait to see if Smith declares himself fit for tomorrow's trip to second-placed Sheffield United.
If he doesn't make it, Burley would have to play veteran Kevin Miller, below, who was signed as cover last month and has sat on the bench since.
Burley has a huge injury list to contend with tomorrow as, apart from Smith, Bartosz Bialkowski (knee), David Prutton (ankle), Matt Oakley (ankle), Djamel Belmadi (achilles), Darren Powell (hamstring), Darren Potter (calf), Michael Svensson (knee), Richard Chaplow (foot), Jermaine Wright (hamstring), Paul Smith (virus), Claus Lundekvam (virus) and Marian Pahars (heel) are all definitely out or doubtful.
Smith, Lundekvam and Potter have the best chance of facing the faltering Blades.
