A SECOND set of proposed modifications to the new local plan have been published for public consultation for the six weeks ending 5 May.

Cllr Martin Hatley, Test Valley Borough Council deputy leader and portfolio holder for planning and transport, said: "The inspectors, having listened to the objections to the plan, recommended a number of changes be made, which the council has considered carefully.

"The inspectors' recommendations are not binding and a second set of amendments, which the council is now proposing in response to the remaining policies and proposals, are now being published for the public to comment upon. I would encourage people to make comments on these changes, which will be taken into account, together with the representations received during consultation on the previous set of proposed modifications, before the final version of the plan is adopted."

The Borough Local Plan Review makes provision for the area's development needs to 2011 and contains development control policies to guide planning decisions. Copies of the proposed modifications are available from council's offices in Andover and libraries.
