George Burley has a message for any Saints fan who thinks he's about to walk away from the club: "I'm very happy here."

As a high-profile manager with an excellent track record, Burley will be linked with top jobs elsewhere all summer - something which has already started at Charl-ton with the vacancy that will arise when Alan Curbishley leaves at the end of the season.

But the Saints boss, left, is taking it all in his stride and reiterated how happy he is at St Mary's.

He said: "It's all just complete speculation.

"I've seen about a dozen managers' names linked with the Charlton job but, as far as I'm concerned, I'm very happy at Southampton.

"I've had nothing but great support since I've come to the club, both from the fans and the chairman."

Burley's focus at the moment is solely on rebuilding his squad for a Premiership promotion push next season.

He has this week completed the £2m signing of Polish striker Grzegorz Rasiak and has had to sort out the club's retained list.

On top of that, Burley has an array of scouting trips arranged all over the world in the coming weeks to try and find the players to lift the club out of the Championship next term.
