ENGLAND manager Fabio Capello has given his support to Southampton-based football charity Kick4Life.

The national team coach has backed the charity, set up by brothers Steve and Pete Fleming, ahead of this year’s World Cup in South Africa.

The charity helps raise money for children and orphans in Lesotho in southern Africa through the popularity of football.

Pete set up the charity after he and Steve kicked a football the distance of ten marathons in ten days across Malawi in May 2005 and realised the impact that the game can have in fighting the Aids virus.

They are now working to get more people tested as well as provide social programmes for youngsters.

They have helped 25,000 orphans in Lesotho which suffers from a very high rate of HIV and Aids.

Capello, who joined the brothers at Wembley for the launch of a book about the charity, said: “I’ve seen first hand how Kick4Life is actually changing lives,” he said.

“This summer all eyes will be on South Africa, and it is my hope that we can harness the power of the game to transform the lives of some of the world’s most disadvantaged people.”
