HUNDREDS of protesters blocked a road as part of their fight to stop 1,200 homes being built in their village.

They took to the streets of North Baddesley as district councillors who were looking at potential sites for the development.

The crowd blocked Hoe Lane, where most of the homes are expected to be built.

Angry at North Baddesley's inclusion a second time round after the first local plan was rejected, the residents took to the Hoe Lane site to protest armed with banners and signs.
