A Winchester weight loss group has toasted success in one of its toughest tusks – collectively losing the weight of a baby elephant!

Twenty women from Lighterlife’s Winchester and Andover branch celebrated losing 60 stone with a special evening on Tuesday, May 18 To celebrate their new figures they enjoyed a trying-on session at Hobbs womenswear shop in Winchester High Street. Earlier the store laid on a fashion show followed by a presentation from a personal stylist.

One member, Sue Brisco, then raised around £100 from a raffle. She was fundraising for breast cancer charity Breakthrough, having been diagnosed with the disease in 2005.

Most of the women lost between three and four stone over a 14-week period.
