BEER, beer everywhere – and all of it to drink.

Southampton’s annual real ale extravaganza got under way at the Guildhall last night, marking the start of three days of the city’s popular beer festival.

The around 3,000 expected visitors have more than 90 real ales, as well as ciders, perries, bottled beers, and – for the first time – wines to choose from.

This year there are so many Hampshire-based breweries supplying beers that they have all been given a new dedicated bar.

Sessions continue to run today and tomorrow, call the Guildhall box office on 023 8063 2601 for ticket details.
