FIREFIGHTERS were called to help a youngster who got a screw stuck in his foot last night The 11-year-old boy was building a skate ramp with friends when he stepped on a 4inch woodscrew sticking out of a piece of wood.
The crew from Eastleigh Fire Station was called to assist paramedics with moving the boy from an alleyway in Seymour Close, Chandlers Ford, just after 8.40pm.
They then had to cut the 3ft piece of wood so the youngster could get into the ambulance. He was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.
