FEARS are growing for the safety of a Hampshire woman missing from her home for more than 24 hours.

Christine Watson was said to be in an "agitated state" when she left her North Baddesley home at around 10.30am yesterday, and police say all efforts to find her have so far failed.

The 69-year-old did not take her handbag or mobile phone with her.

Inspector Justin Norris said, "We have been carrying out numerous enquiries and as yet have not been able to locate Christine Watson.

"We are getting very concerned for her welfare and are appealing for people's help in trying to find her.

"The photograph we have was taken just over a year ago and may help people recognise her. "Did you see her yesterday or overnight? Do you know where she is? "If you can help us find her please contact the police immediately.

We need to make contact as soon as possible to ensure she is safe and well."

Christine is described as white, 5ft tall, of medium build and with short, dyed red hair. She is said to look younger than her age.

She is thought to have been wearing trousers and ankle-high wellies when she was last seen.

Anyone with any information should call the police immediately on 999 or 101.
