HMS Daring damaged in Southampton Water

THE NAVY’S newest ship has been damaged after a collision with a tug in Southampton water.

It has emerged that HMS Daring was being towed into Marchwood on Tuesday evening when it collided with a tug.

The 7,500-tonne destroyer, based in Portsmouth and commissioned last year, is now being examined by naval engineers.

The ship was declared ready for action just last month.

is not just a little bit worrying that one of the navy's newest war ships can be damaged by a modest tug. we're doomed if any of our enemys decide to invest in a fleet of tug boats, our navy will be running scared.

It is the Navy Lark all over again, was A.S. Johnson responsible? Rename it HMS Troutbridge!

When you get a bit of gold lace on your cuff, it's always YOUR fault.

Completely Navy boat’s fault!! Was going way too fast in the wrong direct for Tug Boat - Even heard Tug Boat radio through on open channel to tell Navy Captain to ‘slow down’ and was given direct instructions to change its course before it capsized the Tug! Gives you hope that the Navy Captain couldn’t even sail it in even with direct instructions and without the duress of war!!!!
