Alresford Town showed nine-man Fawley no mercy as they racked up their biggest win of the season.

Fawley got off to the worst possible start when defender Elliot Earl was shown a straight red card inside the first ten minutes for a last man foul.

And Alresford made the most of having a one-man advantage.

Goals from Simon Everett and James Davis gave them a 2-0 lead at the break.

Davis headed home his second five minutes into the second half to make it 3-0.

Tom Donaldson tapped in Town’s fourth on the hour before Dean Cole rounded the Fawley goalkeeper to make it 5-0.

Sam Wyeth then joined Earl in seeing red after he picked up two bookings in quick succession.

Craig Lynskey pulled a goal back for Fawley, volleying into the net from the edge of the box but Daniel Barber had the final say when he drilled home Alresford’s sixth.

Alresford co-manager Danny Robinson said: “The performance was coming.

“We knew if we could take our chances we could do that and it all fell into place against Fawley and we did that.”

Fawley manager Richie Coxall said: “It was disappointing.

“But our lads all dug in and in terms of commitment I couldn’t ask for any more really but with three at the back you are bound to leave gaps which we did.”
