THIS is the photograph that will make motorists’ blood boil.

A clamping firm that has taken thousands of pounds from Hampshire drivers for minor rule breaking parked up in a loading bay.

The picture was snapped by a Daily Echo reader who saw an employee of Whites Car Park Solutions leave his company van while he went to get a burger and chips – an allegation denied by the company.

The clampers were photographed by Chris George, 56, who has had to pay out £420 to get his 23-year-old daughter’s vehicle released by the firm in the past despite his claims she was legally parked. The dad-of-two said he could not believe his eyes when he saw the van in High Street, Eastleigh.

He claims it was parked for more than 20 minutes – less time than some of the victims claimed they had to wait to be clamped, towed away and fined more than £400.

He said: “I couldn’t believe it when he just pulled up and got out. It’s like it’s one rule for everyone else but they can park wherever they like. The fines they give out are ridiculous anyway but to see them do this was infuriating.

“He obviously doesn’t practise what he preaches.”

The firm’s boss claims members of his clamping squad are given permission to use their vehicles for personal errands and on this occasion the driver was off duty.

Jason White said after speaking to the driver he found out he had been delivering furniture for a friend and was therefore legally allowed to be parked there.

Eastleigh Borough Council confirmed people could park there for those purposes.
