SCHOOLGIRL suffered a broken shoulder when she was hit by a BMW car on a Southampton dual carriageway.
As reported in the Daily Echo yesterday, the 11- year-old, who was kept in Southampton General Hospital overnight after the incident in Tebourba Way, Shirley on Tuesday afternoon, is now recovering with her family.
Three police cars and ambulance crew rushed to the outer lane of the carriageway near the pedestrian crossing, in the direction of Millbrook Flyover where they treated her an the scene for more than 30 minutes before taking her to hospital.
The female driver of the red BMW and her elderly passenger as the little girl was put in a neck brace and stretcher and taken to hospital. They spoke to officers before driving on.
A police spokesman said the girl is reported as having a broken shoulder but no other serious injuries.
