A HAMPSHIRE city centre could face traffic chaos over the next few weeks after temporary road closures were announced.
Access to Tower Street and Tower Road in Winchester will be restricted for three weeks from Tuesday, May 3 due to gas and cable maintenance.
Tower Road will be closed for two weeks but Tower Street will remain open to all traffic during the same period as will the multi-storey car park.
But from Monday, May 16, parts of Tower Street will be closed, restricting traffic at certain times. A diversion route for Sussex Street will be in use and local access to Tower Road is available via the Sussex Street junction.
The utilities work involves Southern Gas Network replacing mains.
