HARBOUR bosses have hit out at light pollution caused by Wightlink’s new cross- Solent ferries.
Lymington Harbour Commissioners (LHC) wrote to the company following complaints that lights aboard the W-class vessels were being left on overnight.
The huge ferries are moored at Wightlink’s Lymington terminal, which is near homes.
Harbourmaster Ryan Willegers told a LHC meeting the company had replied to a letter sent after the matter was raised at the previous meeting.
Mr Willegers said the company needed to leave lights for safety reasons, as the ferries are patrolled at night. He added that the matter would be looked into.
