A HAMPSHIRE mum has secured the backing of a millionaire TV businessman with her portable toilet invention.

Kate Castle, 35, took her BoginaBag idea onto hit BBC show Dragon’s Den in the hope of landing a much-needed investment.

The innovation at first glance looks exactly like a standard camping chair, but a cover over the top can be removed to create a toilet-seat.

Degradable bags can then be used to cover the BoginaBag, making a lightweight and portable loo – perfect for camping trips and festivals.

It was an idea that soon sparked a bidding war between the dragons – with Deborah Meaden, Hilary Devey and Theo Paphitis all putting in offers.

But Theo’s considerable contacts in the retail sector led Mrs Castle to give him a 30 per cent stake in her business, in return for £50,000.

She said: “When you walk up the stairs you’re not sure what to expect.

“The dragons are definitely as intimidating as they seem on the TV – the pressure of the environment is really very stressful.”

Mrs Castle, who has two young children Albert, 7, and Connie, 5, in Compton near Winchester, came up with her idea after a camping trip three years ago.

She said: “I was lying awake in the middle of the night and I thought there has got to be a better option than trekking across the campsite to the loo – along with having to do the same for two children.”

Mrs Castle now hopes to sell the chair to major retailers.
