A HIT-and-run driver is being hunted after a car mounted a pavement and collided with a pedestrian.
The 39-year-old man was hit on the Old Northam Road, in Southampton, after leaving the Farah Cafe on St Mary Street.
The driver then fled the scene in the vehicle.
Detective Inspector Paul Gelman of Southampton CID, said: “We’re appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who saw either party prior to it, to contact us as soon as possible.
“We’re particularly interested in hearing from anyone who saw the car leave the road.
“It is also understood that there was a disturbance earlier in the evening at the Farah Cafe and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed this to make contact with the investigation team.”
The incident happened at about 11.20pm on Wednesday.
Witnesses are asked to contact the Operation Pembury team at Shirley CID on 101.
