Arrest made after rape in city park
POLICE investigating a reported rape in Southampton have released a man on bail.
Detectives investigating the apparent attack on a 20-year-old woman walking alone in East Park, near Brunswick Place, shortly after 4am on Sunday, had arrested a 39-year-old in connection with the incident.
The woman reported that she was approached by a stranger who raped her.
Police have stepped up patrols in the area, and have bailed the man until November 7 while their investigations continue.
