40 jobs go as dealer shuts four branches
MORE than 40 staff have been made redundant as four branches of struggling south coast car dealers Southgate Group have closed.
Its Mitsubishi franchises in Romsey, Poole and Bridport and a joint Subaru and Peugeot site in Blandford, Dorset have ceased trading.
Company bosses were yesterday locked in negotiations to rescue three larger Peugeot sites in Southampton, Winchester and Andover.
The family-run company, which has seven sites in Dorset and Hampshire, is seeking advice from corporate recovery specialists but has not yet appointed administrators
