A HAMPSHIRE student brewed up a storm to make the finals of a culinary cook-off.
Top TV chef J a m e s Martin was so i m p r e s s e d with young M i c k y Wi g m o re ’ s R a v i o l i Wonder recipe that he gave the 14-year-old a shot at winning a major competition.
The Priestlands School student is taking part in the Red Tractor Beef and Lamb Mmmake it with Mince Challenge 2011.
He will appear in the finals in London later this month with the hope of being crowned national champion.
First prize is a day with James Martin in London, watching his BBC cooking show Saturday Kitchen live, meeting the guests and visiting some of the capital’s top eateries.
The competition is aimed at promoting the need for youngsters to learn basic cooking.
