The annual search is on – is your pet ready to parade proudly on the festive catwalk this Christmas?

The Daily Echo is today launching its Party Pets competition to sniff out which pampered pooch or merry moggy looks best in their finest festive get-up.

Whether you have spent the party season with a hamster in a Christmas hat or a stylish shi tzu, we want you to send us your photographs of your party pets.

Last Christmas and new year saw hundreds of pets of all shapes and sizes from across Hampshire don a Santa hat or reindeer costume as families ensured everyone was involved in the festivities.

And this year is set be no different with pet shops seeing owners going barking mad for all things festive for their furry and feathered friends, including speciality mince pies and customised coats.

Last year Yogi Bear, a six-and-a-half-year-old Persian cat from Hayling Island, stole the show with his Christmas Day coat and hat.

Runner-up spot went to Chihuahua Chiquita, shih tzu Dewars, springer spaniel Shys and Boston bulldog Cash who all posed together in their Santa hats on their sofa at home in Regent’s Park.

Third place went to Biffy, a 14-month-old Airedale terrier from Locks Heath.

This year’s winner will receive a Daily Echo goody bag.
