WE’RE thinking of you.
That’s the message to our troops as they prepare to spend Christmas on the frontline in Afghanistan from family and friends back home in Hampshire.
Hannah Swales and Louise Hewitt are typical of the wives and girlfriends whose thoughts will be thousands of miles away as Britain tucks into the turkey dinner.
Daily Echo readers have brought some festive cheer to our servicemen and women of the 1st Battalion, Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment – nicknamed The Tigers – by sending hundreds of cards wishing season’s greetings.
They have also raised more than £1,000 for the regiment’s charity which will help the families of soldiers who come home injured.
