A WOMAN had to have a ring cut off her finger after she was bitten by a dog.
The 50-year-old was being treated at Southampton General Hospital for the injury, which had caused her hand to swell up.
Firefighters, who have specialist equipment, were called in from Redbridge station at around 8am this morning.
The ring, believed to be on the woman’s wedding ringfinger, took an hour and a half to cut through and nine blades of a jeweller’s ring cutter tool – firefighters had to bring up more blades.
Watch manager Rob Burns said the ring was made of titanium making it a lot harder to get through.
