ITS traditional family feel, ale and home-cooked food has won a Hampshire pub a national accolade.

Publicans Simon and Hayley Froud were recognised by their brewery Wadworth as Best Newcomers in the Managed Houses category for turning The Master Builder pub in Swaythling Road, West End, around after taking over in December 2009.

Simon said: “We were surprised but completely overjoyed to receive the award. We are really pleased and proud.”
