YOUNG dancer Rose Metcalf was snatched by rescue helicopter from the sinking cruise ship Costa Concordia as she was about to leap into the water.
As the boat began rolling over, Rose, 22, posted a message on a social networking site.
She said: “My name is Rose, it’s Friday 13th and I’m one of the last survivors still onboard the sinking cruise liner off the coast of Italy.
“Pray for us to be rescued.”
She was on the point of jumping into the pitch black with four other people when at the last minute Italian coastguard rescuers winched them to safety.
Rose, who was working on board, said: “It was very dramatic. The worst thing was the thought of jumping into the cold water in the dark.”
Last night Rose was still trying to make arrangements to get back from Italy to the family home in Wimborne, Dorset.
