A MAN has been ordered to carry out unpaid work, after he assaulted a police officer.
Michael Barnett, 33, from Hobbs Court, Gosport, pleaded guilty to assaulting PC Jerome Kilty in the execution of his duty.
Fareham Magistrates’ Court heard that PC Kilty had been trying to arrest Barnett when he threw his head back in an attempt to headbutt the officer – but no physical contact was made.
Barnett was given a 12- month community order and told to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work.
