HRH the Princess Royal has agreed to attend a special Freedom March by HMS Collingwood through Fareham Town Centre as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The visit will also see Princess Anne officially open the newly upgraded West Street Play Area – again part of the jubilee celebrations this year.
As “Freeman of the Borough”, HMS Collingwood sailors will be exercising their right to march through the town led by the Royal Marines band.
The event will take place on March 20 in West Street, Fareham where The Princess Royal will be met by the Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Trevor Cartwright MBE. Dame Mary Fagan DCVO JP, Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire will also be present.
