Thousands of motorists are tonight facing severe delays on a major Hampshire road.

Tailbacks stretch back from the A31 westbound at Stoney Cross to Junction 2 of the M27.

An overhead cable came down onto the dual carriageway earlier today, police said.

There have been emergency works to the electricity pylon since 10.45am.
