A FAMOUS German soft toy firm is reproducing a teddy bear that was made shortly after the sinking of the Titanic.
Stuttgart based Steiff says it will be remaking its “mourning bear” to commemorate the anniversary of the disaster.
Just like the 1912 original, the 20 inch black bear has “tearful” eyes lined with red felt and a sombre expression reflecting a nation grieving for the 1,517 passengers and crew, many of whom were from Hampshire.
The limited edition bears each cost £199 and come complete with a hand-painted model of the doomed ship.
